You want to avoid using harsh chemicals on your skin, as these can be absorbed. Absorption can lead to cell damage, which can result in premature wrinkles and age spots. And, if the product is absorbed into your skin, it’s doing less on top of your skin, so you lose the purported effects. For instance, if you use a concealor that contains harsh chemicals, more of it will be absorbed than will actually stay on your skin, which leads to it not being able to conceal much of anything! Do yourself a favor and use only natural products on your face and skin. They may be more expensive, but they are definitely worth it.

If you don’t get enough sleep, it surely shows. You develop dark circles under your eyes, your breakouts become more difficult to control, and you might even notice some wrinkles taking root. To prevent this, you want to make sure that you are getting ample sleep each night (for the average adult, this means 7 to 8 hours). Some ways to help with this are to avoid caffeine eight hours before bed, make sure that you go to bed and wake up at approximately the same time each day, and to use relaxation techniques to help facilitate sleeping.

There’s a famous saying that states that beauty is only skin deep; however, this has been shown to not be true. There is more to beauty than skincare products and make-up.
